The aim of Class Measures' leadership and instructional consultancy is to support district and school leaders and teachers in the development of instructional methods that will lead to improved student achievement. Services range from collaborative, onsite school evaluations using a focused classroom observation protocol to professional development in reading and mathematics for teachers.
In preparing to provide consultancy services, Class Measures considers a number of factors. The consulting team reviews the culture of the district or school, takes into account the need to strengthen the commitment of all stakeholders to a common vision, and the capacity of the district or school to use data proactively to change.
Accountability for Learning-School and District Audits, Evaluations, and Inspections
This is an opportunity for ‘another pair of eyes'. Class Measures consultants typically spend one ortwo days in a district or school measuring the capacityto improve teaching and learning, using a standards based protocol. Experienced educators review student achievement data, interview staff and teachers, and observe learning outcomes in classrooms. Class Measures, in consultation with the school or district, then makes recommendations on how to improve capacity andstudent achievement. Visit the Accountability page for more information.
Teacher Licensure and Mentoring
Class Measures' Performance Review Program for Initial Licensure is for districts that want to improvethe professional standing of their teachers. Since 2003, Class Measures has been approved as a provider of teacher licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The two main components of the program are maintaining a portfolio of practice and a series of classroom observations. A Class Measures instruction consultant and a mentor from the district work closely with the teacher during the process. See page on the Performance Review Program for Initial Licensure (PRPIL).
