Revere Middle/Secondary Professional program

Class Measures District-Based Professional Licensure Program in collaboration with Gordon College and the Revere Public Schools

Class Measures Middle and Secondary District-Based Professional Licensure program will be endorsing candidates for the following fields:  math (5-8; 8-12), history (5-8, 8-12), English (5-8, 8-12), and general science (5-8).

The components of the program will include two courses (approved in advanced subject content) from Gordon College along with an advanced practicum. This advanced practicum will be provided through the Class Measures Professional Licensure Coaches. Teachers will work one on one with a Professional Licensure Coach. The focus of these components will be linking advanced coursework content to instructional strategies in the classroom.

Monthly meetings for Coaches and teachers will take place to offer support and to explore issues of teaching and learning. Coaches will conduct three (3) classroom visits (for a minimum of 60 minutes each visit) to observe how the teacher has incorporated the advanced coursework in their daily delivery of instruction. Coaches will assign readings if necessary to further educate the teacher in any weak areas. Journals will be kept weekly by the teachers and reviewed by Coaches monthly.

In addition, two videotaped or voice tape-recorded classroom lessons will be submitted: one at the beginning and one at the end of the program. A reflective paper (minimum of 2 pages) will address how the advanced subject content is delivered in these lessons using different instructional strategies.
