Date last updated 12:09 pm Jan 5th, 2009

Class Measures presented the details of its Performance Review Program for Initial Licensure at the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators' Association (MSSAA) Summer Insitute at the Sea Crest Resort in N. Falmouth on Thursday, July 24th.

The Performance Review Program for Initial Licensure (PRPIL) is a route to teacher certification offered in Massachusetts on behalf of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). In its fourth year of operation, the program has grown from an initial enrollment of 25 teachers to over 200 teachers this year. Enrollment in the program has doubled since 2005, and school districts from across the state have teachers enrolled in the program.

The PRPIL program is a portfolio-based program focussed on teacher quality. Class Measures instructional consultants and mentors from the teachers’ district provide direction and assistance to the teachers during the term of the program, both in the portfolio development process and through observing the teacher in the classroom.
