Date last updated 4:06 pm May 24th, 2010

Class Measures was awarded a contract to conduct evaluations of eight charter schools authorized by the State University of New York (SUNY) Charter Schools Institute. The evaluations will occur in the spring of 2010 and include elementary and secondary charter schools in the Harlem section of Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Albany.

The evaluation team will consist of four members, including a team leader and team members with the expertise in leadership and governance, curriculum, instruction, special education, assessment, program evaluation, and human resources and professional development. The team will be using the charter school renewal benchmarks developed by the Charter Schools Institute.

Since 2006, Class Measures has conducted numerous school evaluations for the SUNY Charter Schools Institute, and has extensive experience evaluating charter schools in urban environments, including Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, Buffalo, and Detroit. As a result, Class Measures is familiar with the challenges faced by school leaders, teachers, and students who teach and learn in urban environments.
